Founded in 1837 as Temperanceville, West End became part of Pittsburgh in 1873.
The CareerLink Community Center of the West Pittsburgh Partnership helps residents find jobs and employers hire qualified people. In fact, more than 2,300 people have found employment with the help of the center's trained staff.

Located at 37 Wabash Avenue in West End, the center provides a wide array of free services to job seekers. These include the following:
  • Outreach, intake and orientation to CareerLink systems & services.
  • Job search and placement services.
  • Career counseling.
  • Workshops focused around basic computer skills, soft skills and job-readiness skills.
  • Resource library with information about social services, education and life-long learning opportunities, financial aid and more.
  • Labor market information, including job vacancy listings and local in-demand occupations.
  • Computer laboratory with eight workstations, scanner, color printer and high-bandwidth access to the Internet.
  • Telephone, faxing and photocopying services.
For employers, the center provides free listings for job openings as well as other services, such as customized recruitment planning, to help identify and secure the best-qualified employees.
